Did you know that currently there are approximately 10,000 people retiring a day? Retirement income is relatively simple but not without risk. My main goal is to relieve my clients of their financial worries and make sure they outlive their money. I strive to accomplish this in a very honest and upfront way.
My passion is to grow your wealth. I take this very seriously, and work hard to build longstanding and meaningful relationships with my clients, getting to know them very well, and even becoming friends with many. I like to see what makes them tick. I like to get to know their families. I vacation with them. I celebrate with them.
I started this successful firm from scratch, one client at a time, so I know what it’s like to build a business. I think it offers security and reliability to my clients, who are mostly high-level executives and business owners. They enjoy our shared common ground, and the confidence of having someone manage their money who has truly been there.
I recognize that the money I manage represents the hard work and savings of people like you, and that everyone has different ambitions and different definitions of success. To my mind, that success can be described as the unfolding of the design of your life. The optimism in this country will continue to build great new companies. This will give us as investors many opportunities.
I grew up on a farm near a small town in Iowa where I learned about hard work early on in my life. We had a very normal, middle class, midwestern family, where on Sundays after church we usually spent time with extended family. We didn’t have a lot, but no one really seemed to miss what we didn’t have.
While working on the farm I really didn’t have time to spend a lot of money. As a result, my savings slowly grew, and I became interested in how best to manage my money. As I continued to learn about how the investment industry worked, it was apparent that many advisors were not working in the best interest of their clients, selling products that benefitted them instead of the client. I knew there had to be a better way. I felt that within the industry many advisors were working for the firm. I chose to work for the client.
This was a very new concept and unheard of in the midwest at that time. But to me it seemed very simple. My independence became my ally. I could truly do what was right and build a liable company, which allowed me to provide unbiased advice and use any investment vehicle in the marketplace that I deemed a good fit for my clients.
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to leave the world a bit better; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!
– RALPH WALDO EMERSON
In 1992, I married and moved from the farm to Kansas City where I currently reside along with my wife and two beautiful girls. Taking time to enjoy the simple things in life are vital elements of happiness in our household, and family and church are the glue that binds our lives together.
I have a deep and abiding passion for travel and exploring different cultures. I have had the good fortune of being able to travel all over the world, and developed a particular affinity for Asia. Every country I visit changes me in some way, and these experiences have been one of my greatest teachers.
Travel has helped me get a better understanding of the world economy and enhances my knowledge of future opportunities. My adventures abroad have opened my eyes to different ways of living, and help me approach everything I do with a greater sense of purpose and gratitude.
I continue to proudly grow my business one client at a time, with honesty and integrity. I truly enjoy educating clients and prospects on how the financial services industry works. If you think Mottet Wealth could be a good fit for your own financial needs, I invite you to get in touch.
